RYAN GRANT

FOUNDER

Ryan has been collecting and investing in whisky in both casks and bottles for more than 13 years. After retiring from an extremely successful International rugby career, representing Scotland and the British Lions, he has now turned his focus to whisky.

Over the years Ryan has developed excellent relationships with distillery groups, ensuring we can offer great quality casks at fair prices. Ryan is also founder and creator of the multi-award winning Garden Shed Drinks Company.

MAX MCFARLANE

MASTER OF WHISKY

Max is a Master Whisky Blender with over 40 years experience, and was the mastermind behind world renowned Highland Park. Max has worked on some of Scotlands’ finest whiskies including Glengoyne, Tamdhu and Macallan.

As a Keeper of the Quaich max is extremely passionate about whisky and educating our clientele.

STUART MACPHERSON

MASTER OF WOOD

In 1979, Stuart joined the Clyde Cooperage in Glasgow, beginning his four-year apprenticeship as a Cooper. Spanning an incredible 43 years, Stuart's career has seen him hold the title of Foreman, Assistant Manager and Cooperage Manager, and when Edrington chose to relocate their cooperage to Addiewell in 2002 Stuart was integral in ensuring it was a smooth transition. In 2012, Stuart then assumed the role of Master of Wood for The Macallan and in 2016 set up an audit team in Jerez de la Frontera to work with cask suppliers and seasoning bodegas to ensure that the sherry casks were manufactured to The Macallan’s specific specifications. Stuart began a new chapter in 2022 joining the team at Caledonian Cask Partnership.
