The Caledonian Cask Partnership was founded by Ryan Grant, former Scottish international and British & Irish Lions rugby player, who transitioned into the drinks industry in 2017. Since then, Ryan has played a key role in bringing innovative alcohol brands to market, including The Garden Shed Drinks Co., The Remarkable Turtle Rum, and most recently, the independent bottling venture Unkiltered.

Driven by a passion for quality and storytelling, Ryan co-founded The Caledonian Cask Partnership to meet growing global demand for premium Scotch whisky—combining his entrepreneurial insight with the technical knowledge of seasoned industry experts.

Joining Ryan in this mission is Max McFarlane, one of Scotland's most respected whisky makers. With a distinguished career spanning Highland Park, The Macallan, and Tamdhu, Max brings decades of experience in cask selection, whisky maturation, and sensory profiling.

Together, they lead a team focused on delivering consistent quality, transparent supply, and tailored whisky solutions—serving everyone from independent bottlers and brand owners to corporate clients and private collectors.
